Calculate imprint timing before raising the baby
A maturation timer answers when a creature becomes adult. An imprint plan answers a harder question: whether enough complete care requests can occur before that moment. This calculator combines each creature's maturation profile with the three server settings that control speed, interval and gain.
Use all three imprint settings together
BabyMatureSpeedMultiplier shortens or lengthens the complete growth period. BabyCuddleIntervalMultiplier controls how often a care request can appear. BabyImprintAmountMultiplier changes the percentage awarded by each completed request. These settings solve different parts of the schedule, so copying only the mature speed from a server announcement is not enough.
The common failure starts with a large maturation boost. A creature grows much faster, but the care interval stays close to eight hours. Only one or two requests fit before adulthood even though several are required. Lowering the cuddle interval creates more windows. Increasing the imprint amount reduces how many successful actions are needed. The calculator shows both counts side by side so the conflict is visible before an egg hatches.
Read the formula result as a planning boundary
The gain shown for each care comes from the current imprint relationship between base maturation time, mature speed, the eight-hour care interval, cuddle interval and imprint amount. A short-lived creature can receive a larger percentage per request than a creature with a long maturation period at the same rates. That is why one generic percentage cannot be used for every species.
ARK performs these calculations with its own floating point values and update order. Plain decimal math can occasionally land one request away from the result observed in game. The calculator marks this boundary as a tight rounding case instead of promising success or declaring failure. A clearly possible schedule has enough complete intervals. A clearly impossible schedule is short by more than the known one-care boundary.
Understand complete care windows
A complete window means the entire request interval fits before adulthood. The available-window count is therefore based on maturation time divided by the active care interval. It does not assume that a player will respond instantly. If a request appears while you are away, every minute of delay reduces the practical slack remaining for later actions.
The schedule lists each planned action from hatch or birth. Treat those times as earliest targets, not alarms guaranteed to match the second. Server pauses, downtime, rate changes and delayed interaction can move the real sequence. The time after the last required care is the useful safety margin. A large positive margin is comfortable. A tiny margin means normal play delays can still lose the final action.
Use the interval suggestion carefully
When the current combination does not fit, the tool searches for a lower cuddle interval that creates enough complete formula windows. That number is a practical starting point for a server owner. It is not automatically written to a configuration file, and it should be tested with one ordinary creature before being used for an established breeding line.
A very low cuddle interval creates frequent requests across every species, which may be inconvenient even when it makes 100% mathematically possible. If you want fewer interactions, increasing BabyImprintAmountMultiplier can be a better tradeoff. Compare both approaches, consider how long your players are usually online, then choose a combination with useful slack instead of targeting the narrowest possible success.
Account for a starting imprint bonus
The starting-imprint field supports a creature that already has progress before the planned care sequence. The 30% shortcut is useful when a one-time Sanguine effect has been applied. The calculator subtracts that progress from the remaining target and recalculates the formula care count. It does not alter maturation time or the interval between later requests.
Do not use the starting field for a care action you merely expect to complete later. It represents progress already present at the beginning of this plan. If the current baby already shows a different percentage, enter the displayed value and use the remaining schedule as an estimate from that point.

Why can fast maturation prevent 100% imprint?
Baby maturation and care requests use separate multipliers. If adulthood arrives before enough complete care intervals occur, the schedule cannot fit without changing the cuddle interval, imprint amount or maturation rate.
What does BabyCuddleIntervalMultiplier change?
It scales the base eight-hour care interval. A lower value produces requests more often. It does not directly increase the percentage gained from each completed request.
What does BabyImprintAmountMultiplier change?
It multiplies the imprint percentage awarded by each successful care action. Raising it can reduce the number of actions needed for 100%, while the request timing remains controlled by the cuddle interval.
Why does the calculator mark some results as tight?
ARK applies internal floating point calculations and rounding. When plain decimal math misses by only one care, the game can place the final request differently. Tight combinations should be tested on one expendable baby.
Can I start from 30% imprint?
Yes. Use the Sanguine starting option or enter 30 in the starting imprint field. The calculator then plans only the remaining 70%.
