How to use the ARK Incubator Calculator

The incubator makes breeding decisions easier because it reveals how an egg's wild levels are distributed before the baby hatches. This calculator converts those point allocations into comparable stat values without requiring you to hatch every candidate first.

Start with the exact species and variant

Select the creature named in the incubator, then check whether the list contains a special variant such as Aberrant, X, R, Tek or a map-specific form. Two creatures can share a similar name while using different base stats. Choosing the ordinary Rex for a different Rex variant can therefore produce a result that looks plausible but does not match the baby.

Use the search box to narrow the species list. Selecting a new creature resets the point fields so values from the previous egg are not carried into the next calculation. The quick-pick buttons are shortcuts for common breeding animals, but the full list contains the current breedable ASA entries in the local data file.

Enter points, not the displayed stat value

Each field expects the wild level count shown beside a stat in the incubator. For example, if the incubator reports 38 points in Health and 42 points in Melee Damage, enter 38 and 42. Do not enter the creature's health number or melee percentage. The calculated value underneath each field updates as you type.

The total wild point counter is also a useful transcription check. A baby creature's expected level is the sum of the inherited wild allocations plus one base level. If the expected level does not agree with the egg, review every field before assuming the calculation is wrong. A missing digit or a point entered under the wrong stat is the most common cause.

What the calculated values represent

The results estimate the values inherited by an unlevelled baby under vanilla ARK: Survival Ascended stat scaling. They include each species' base value, the increase per wild level and the built-in post-tame adjustments used by bred creatures. Percentage-based stats such as melee damage and movement speed are calculated differently from flat values such as Health or Weight, so the tool handles those categories separately.

Imprinting is intentionally excluded. Imprint percentage belongs to the raised individual and does not change the genes passed to the next generation. Domestic levels applied by a player are also excluded because they are not inherited. This lets two eggs be compared on the part that matters to a breeding line.

Why a result can differ on a custom server

Faster hatching, maturation and mating rates change how long breeding takes, but they do not normally change inherited stat values. Custom per-level stat multipliers are different. A server owner can alter how much Health, Weight, Melee Damage or another stat gains from each wild or domestic point. When those settings are changed, a vanilla calculator cannot reproduce the server's number unless it is given the same custom multipliers.

Single-player settings and some overhaul mods can also change the effective scaling. If every copied point is correct but several calculated values remain consistently high or low, check the server configuration rather than adjusting the egg's point counts to force a match. Using the temperature and timing panel

For egg-laying species, the panel shows the reported incubation temperature range and a simple midpoint target in Celsius and Fahrenheit. The midpoint is convenient when arranging air conditioners, dimetrodons or other temperature control, but any stable temperature inside the accepted range should incubate the egg. Nearby heat or cold sources can make the local reading fluctuate, so leave some margin when the valid range is narrow.

The base incubation, gestation and maturation times are reference values before server rate multipliers. The list of eggs with the same target temperature can help group compatible eggs in one incubation area. It is a planning aid, not a promise that every egg will finish together, because different species have different incubation durations.

A practical breeding comparison

Compare one stat at a time instead of judging an egg only by its total level. A high-level egg can spend many points in Food, Oxygen or Movement Speed while inheriting weaker Health and Melee Damage. For combat lines, keep the egg with the better values in the stats you intend to combine. For transport or farming creatures, Weight and Stamina may be more valuable than damage.

After choosing a candidate, use Copy summary to save a plain-text record of the species, expected baby level, point allocations and calculated values. Incubator Calculator FAQ

What number should I enter from the incubator?

Enter the point count beside each stat, not the final health, weight or damage value. The point count is the small level allocation shown for the egg or unborn baby.

Why is the expected baby level different from the creature level I see?

The calculator adds the visible wild point allocations and then adds one for the creature's base level. A mismatch usually means a point was copied incorrectly, a different variant was selected or the server changes per-level stat multipliers.

Does this calculator include imprinting or player-applied levels?

No. It estimates the inherited baby stat before imprint bonuses and before any domestic levels are applied. That makes it suitable for comparing breeding lines.

Will the result match a boosted unofficial server?

It matches vanilla ASA stat scaling. Rates such as maturation speed do not alter inherited stats, but custom PerLevelStatsMultiplier settings can change the final values and cause a mismatch.
